As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Holds 1st Business Summit

The City Government of Valencia together with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Valencia City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association, Incorporated conducted a two-day Business Summit on August 20-21, 2015 at Hotel Valencia, Hagkol, Valencia City.

More than one hundred businessmen in the City of Valencia attended the summit. During the first day, registration and opening ceremonies were facilitated by the Secretariat and the City Mayor, Hon. Azucena P. Huervas declared the opening of the 1st Valencia City Business Summit.

During her message, the Mayor emphasized the importance of the activity in relation to the growing business industry in the city. "The business sector plays a vital role in the City Government, and if we build business, we are building a nation," she said. The Local Chief Executive also discussed the traffic management and booming tourism industry of Valencia. She further stated, "Valencia City strives to be a business-friendly city, and to optimize the venue, do business in Valencia City."

The first session includes Fiscal Reform Agenda and Hon. Policarpo P. Murillo IV, MD is the 1st speaker and he discussed the Business and Economic Profile of Valencia City. While Ms. Grace A. Dapanas, the Officer in-charge of Business Permit and Licensing Division, who talked about Streamlining of Business Registration Process.

Hon. Policarpo P. Murillo IV as the 3rd speaker who discussed the Investment Code of the city and Mr. Junar B. Merla, MPA, STIDS of DTI Bukidnon acted as moderator.

Session II includes Utilities and Business Support System and Ms. Elna B. Guzman, MPSM, the PESO Manager discussed the Labor and Employment Profile. Ms. Ma. Socorro Ester R. Paluga, the General Manager of Valencia City Water District discussed Water Requirements in next decade while Mr. Reynaldo B. Balaba, CPA, OIC General Manager of FIBECO talked about Power and Electricity Needs to sustain Business Growth. Mr. Carl Anthony Manuel, PMO for SG Sales VisMin of Globe Telecom discussed Telecommunications and Information Technology.

On the second day, Session III is all about Fiscal Reform Agenda II and the Hon. City Vice Mayor gave his message and he expressed his thanks to the participants of the summit. Hon. Oliver Owen L. Garcia discussed Real Property Tax and LGU Loans and Investments while Hon. Policarpo P. Murillo talked about the Local Revenue Code.
