As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Young Valencianos Celebrate International Youth Day

Around 800 young Valencianos from various sectors and organizations gathered at Valencia City Hall Covered Court to celebrate this year’s International Youth Day (IYD) on August 12, 2017.

The IYD celebration coincides with the observance of the “LinggongKabataan" as mandated by the SK Reform Act of 2015 which is celebrated from August 12 to 19, 2017.

With the theme “Youth Building Peace,” this year’s celebration highlighted young people’s contributions to peace and security in their communities.

Series of activities were organized to celebrate the achievement and to showcase the talents and skills of the young Valencianos which included a basketball tournament for the young sports enthusiasts and contests on essay writing, poster making, singing, and dancing.

During the opening day, a parade for peace was held followed by a youth forum, mini job fair, boodle fight, Mr &Ms. Youth Valencia Fashion Show, and Inter-Organization Mass Dance Competition.A prayer for peace was also conducted to express the desire of the youth for just and lasting peace.

“We are glad that the theme for this year challenged young people to shape their own future as youth peace builders,” Mr. Francis Oliver B. Awiten, Local Youth Development

Officer, said inastatement.   Awitenaddedthat with the event, he is confident thattoday’s young Valencianos will turn out to be responsible and productive members of the community.

The week-long celebration culminated with a foam party and other fun field activities.
