As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Holds MOA Signing for Collaborative Responses During and After Disaster Strike

The City Government of Valencia signed a Memorandum of Agreement with partner agencies on August 4, 2017 to increase linkages, preparedness, and collaborative responses during and after disaster strike.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office(CDRRMO)spearheaded the event and partnered with the Municipal Governments of Cabanglasan, San Fernando, and Lantapan, multi-national companies such as Dole Philippines and SUMIFRU Philippines, non-government organizations that include KARANCHO Inc., KABALIKAT Civicom, Mt. Kalayo Amateur Radio Network Inc., ABC Eagles Radio Club, Diocese of Malaybalay Social Action Center, SCAN International, REACT, PGBI, and Bravo Ready Reserve Company.

June Ray A. Valero, RN, CDRRM-Officer,in his message said that the agreementaims to establish cooperation among partner sectors and organizationstowards complementation of resources such as sharing of best practices, rescue operations, and information.

He cited that such initiative was based on the mandate of RA 10121 which strengthens the capacity of LGUs and communities in mitigating and preparing for, responding to, and recovering from the impact of disasters.

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervasled the signing of Memorandum of Agreement andexpressed her gratitude to the support and participation of the said LGUs, companies and NGOs.

“Ang atong gipakita nga kinasing-kasing nga pagsuporta timailhan nga kita nagpakabana sa pagpanalipod ug pagserbisyo sa atong constituents,” (Our heartfelt support shows that we are doing our mandate to protect our people and effectively deliver services toourconstituents) said Mayor Huervas.

Municipal Mayor Renante I. Inocando of Cabanglasan, Levi C. Edma Sr. of San Fernando, and Ernie R. Devibar of Lantapan,together with the representatives from said multi-national companies and organizations lauded the City Government of Valencia for having such initiativewhich is beneficial to the public.

The Memorandum of Agreement signing was one of the highlights of the month-long observance of National Disaster Consciousness Month.
