 WELCOME MESSAGE

City Mayor of Valencia City

Greetings!
As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.
It is with great pleasure to welcome you all to the official website of the City of Valencia. Feel free to browse and may it answer specific need of all users.
Thank you.

Valencia City Joins National Blood Donors Month 2017 Celebration

In line with the observance of the National Blood Donors Month every July, the City Government of Valencia through the City Health Office together with Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center and Bukidnon Provincial Office spearheaded this year’s observance through a Bloodletting Activity at the City Hall Covered Court on July 26, 2017.

The activity was conducted pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1021, dated July 9, 1997, and the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the National Blood Service Act of 1994.

The observance aims to build public awareness of the need for quality and safe blood, honor and recognize blood donors, and encourage regular blood donation.

The bloodletting activity was led to meet the increasing demand for blood and augment the national blood requirement of the constituents in the city.

During his welcome remarks, Dr. Juniver G. Flores, MPH, EMT, Medical Officer IV of the City Health Office, said that blood is very important as it could not be manufactured and when we give blood, we give life.

“Every July each year, City Health Office spearheads Blood Donors Month which aims to raise awareness and encourage the constituents to donate blood,” Dr. Flores said.

Dr. Flores also gave the guidelines for blood donors: The donor must be 18 yrs. old, weight should not be lesser than 50kgs, blood pressure should be 90 -160 systolic and 60 -100 diastolic; pulse rate should be between 60-100 beat/minute, hemoglobin must not be lower than 125g/L and must have a healthy body and lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Mr. Joseph Marben D. Gealon, RMT, MedTech III of Provincial Health Office said in his presentation, said that Valencia City leads in blood-letting activities since 2014 and Valencia has been a consistent Sandugo Awardee and a very active implementer of DOH’s National Voluntary Blood Service Program in line with the vision of Republic Act 7719 (The National Blood Services Act of 1994.)

Mr. Abe P. Gillaco, MPA, CGDH-HRMO who spoke in behalf of the City Mayor, Hon. Azucena P. Huervas, in his message, he thanked the Provincial Health Office and Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center for collaborating with City Health Office in spearheading a very meaningful activity as more constituents of Valencia are benefiting the donated blood especially during emergencies.

“Giving blood is giving a part of your life, and with this, it is my honor to say ‘thank you” to all employees and participants who donated blood today,” Gillaco said.

The bloodletting activity was graced by Dr. Juniver G. Flores, MPH, EMT, Medical Officer IV, Joefelyn R. Caluya, Med-Tech III and the Blood-letting Team of CHO, Valencia City, Personnel from Provincial Health Office and Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center with Medical Technologists Joseph Marben D. Gealon, RMT, Felix R. Ocaya, Lucille Sinangote, RMT, Jean Chyrose Suganob, Ryan Rey Luminog, Anthony Tade and Ian Glenn Sarabia.
