Valencia City Celebrates World Earth Day 2017

In honor to widen the campaign in saving mother earth, the City Government of Valencia celebrated World’s Earth Day last April 22, 2017 bringing the global campaign theme “Environmental & Climate Literacy”.

Earth Day is celebrated every April 22 of the year to strengthen public advocacy on the environmental issues that still need to be addressed and empower everyone with climate change awareness in order to inspire action towards environmental protection.

The City Government joined the global community in celebrating Earth Day with tree growing at Twin Hills, Barangay San Carlos and clean-up drive along Panlibatuhan Creek and major estuaries/ canal in Poblacion, this city.

A total of 78 employees joined the tree growing involving some 400 bags of assorted seedlings and 122 employees participated the clean-up drive collecting a total of 30 kilograms of segregated waste.
