Greetings!
As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Mayor Huervas Renders State of the City Address

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas successfully rendered her Sate of the City Address on January 9, 2017 at the City Hall Covered Court.

Considered as the first elected lady City Mayor of Valencia, Huervas highlighted in her report the significant achievements, programs, and services that were successfully implemented in her administration.

Among these are the establishment of the new Mechanized Solid Waste Processing Center and Sanitary Landfill at Barangay Barobo, as well as the closure and rehabilitation of the Tugaya Open Dumpsite.

Also highlighted is the implementation of “No Segregation, No Collection” Policy of waste and garbage which was actively participated and supported by the public.

Huervas even emphasized the fast-track and easy processing of business permits making it beneficial to the business sector.

She also included in her speech the accomplishments of her administration in the field of social, health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, environment, economic, peace and order, and good governance.

She cited the decrease of the under-nutrition prevalence rate from 2.84% in 2010 to 0.83% in 2016, provision of educational scholarships to 5 medical students per year, acquirement of mobile dental clinic from Department of Health and farm machineries from Department of Agriculture, establishment of agri-infra projects in barangays and implementation of Agri-subsidy programs.

The administration also bought additional equipment that will help provide services to the constituents.

On the other hand, the 2nd Seal of Good Local Governance and National Honor Award garnered by the city proved the extensive efforts of the city government to provide the basic services to all the constituents of Valencia City from all walks of life as mandated by law.

“I have many plans for the city and most of it is now on the process of realization,” said Huervas adding that everything was made possible through the support of the people, the local government employees and the city officials.

The City Mayor delivered her report before the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members, Department Heads of Local and National Offices, Government-owned and Controlled Corporations, Barangay Officials, Non-Government Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, People’s Organizations, Faith-based Organizations, Media Partners, Employees of the City Government and invited guests from Valencia City.
