DOH X Deployment Program on Its 7th Year in Valencia City

Geared towards providing Human Resource for Health Network to the unserved underserved communities, the Department of Health Regional Office X offers deployment programs for a more effective and efficient health service delivery in Valencia City.

DOH spearheaded the establishment of Human Resource for Health Network (HRHN), which is a multi-sectoral organization composed of government agencies and non-government organizations which seeks to address and respond to human resource for health (HRH) concerns and problems.

Now on its 7th year in Valencia City, the program continues to assist in the conduct of disease surveillance, health education, provision of health care and regular monitoring of the various health programs for the community.

For 2016, Valencia City Health Office is fortunate to have additional 32 HRH workforce consisting of twenty-five (25) Nurses (NDPs), 5 Midwives (RHMPPs), 1 Medical Technologist and 1 Public Health Associate (PHA) all distributed in the 31 barangays of the City.

The roles of NDPs and RHMPPs is focused in assisting in the implementation of various health programs of the LGU in accordance with the program goals and objectives of DOH and health sector, provides technical assistance in the implementation of health programs and coordinates with the City Health Office in the conduct of regular monitoring and evaluation of various health programs in the city.

The Public Health Associate on the other hand assists in the collection and validation of health-related data and information, participates in the development of health programs and strategies and submits reports to DOH X.

Meanwhile, the deployed medical technologist assists in the laboratory division of the City Health Office.

Valencia City Health Officer Dr. Marlyn V. Agbayani said that the deployment program of DOH is a big help in the city as it helps facilitate the health programs to the far-flung barangays in ensuring that all constituents have access to professional health care.
