City Mayor of Valencia City

As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.
It is with great pleasure to welcome you all to the official website of the City of Valencia. Feel free to browse and may it answer specific need of all users.
Thank you.
~City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas

Mayor Huervas Strengthens Support to BPAT/Barangay Tanod

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas pledged to strengthen the Barangay Tanod and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) in the city by providing them efficient trainings and increase of honorarium next year.

Huervas disclosed the plan during the 2nd BPAT/ Barangay Tanod Foundation Day held on October 23, 2016 at City Oval Grounds with the theme, “Pagsulong ng Pinahusay na Hakbang para sa Patuloy na Pagbabantay at sa Pagpapabuti ng Matinong Katapatan at Kasanayan sa Paglilingkod sa Bayan Bilang Sandata Upang Makamit ang Kapani-paniwalang Pagbabago At Kaunlaran ng Bayan.”

Huervas, in her message, said that together with the city officials, they will do their best to increase the honorarium of the Barangay Tanod with 500 pesos every quarter on 2017.

“Our tanods are voluntarily rendering their services and yet they receive a lesser amount of honorarium,” said Huervas adding that it is time for the city government to provide support in return to their contributions in maintaining peace and order in the city.

The Barangay Tanod/BPAT plays a significant role in the development and progress of the barangay, as it is one of the implementing mechanisms of the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC), which has the primary task of ensuring that peace and order prevail in the barangay while conducting peacekeeping activities in association with the various sectors of the community and ensuring their continuous support towards the maintenance of peace and order in the locality.

PSUPT Benbo P. Jumalon, Chief of Police of Valencia City PNP on the other hand lauded the BPAT/ Barangay Tanod for their unwavering support in responding to emergencies and helping curtail the crime situation in the city.

Jumalon also encouraged the peacekeeping personnel to become a good role model to their constituents.

The City Government of Valencia in cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and the Valencia City Police Station conducted the said celebration with the objective to give recognition to the contributed efforts of BPAT and the Barangay Tanod.
