As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Concludes Nutrition Month,
Crowned the New Queen of Nutrition 2016

The City Government of Valencia successfully concluded the month-long celebration of Nutrition Month and crowned the new Queen of Nutrition 2016 on July 29, 2016 at the City Gymnasium.

21 lovely mothers vied for the Queen of Nutrition 2016 Crown and presented themselves to the crowd while confidently showcasing their beauty and elegance. The City Nutrition Committee (CNC) organized the pageant to advocate the essence of exclusive breastfeeding and the importance of nutrition during the first 1000 days of life of a child.

Ms. Darlah Sherenne D. Laviña of Barangay Poblacion was hailed as the Queen of Nutrition 2016 with Ms. Pearl Joy Castro of Barangay Lumbo as 1st Runner-up, Ms. Rosini C. Tupaz of Barangay Bagontaas as 2nd Runner-up, Ms. Cristy A. Lugtu of Barangay Pinatilan as 3rd Runner-up, and Ms. Dian Acuesta of Barangay Maapag as 4th Runner-up.

The following also received the minor awards:

  • Ms. Shiny Hair - Barangay Guinoyuran

During the event, the members of CNC also launched the 10 Kumainments, the commandments on how to live nutritiously, of the National Nutrition Council. Also showcased are the attires and gowns made by recyclable materials which was worn by students representing their schools.

The City Government of Valencia through the City Nutrition Committee Chairperson and City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas actively participates the celebration of Nutrition Month every year which highlights activities promoting nutrition and its importance.
