City Mayor of Valencia City

As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Inaugurates Local Chief Executive and Members of 7th Sanggunian

Hon. Azucena P. Huervas takes her oath as the 3rd elected City Mayor and the 1st elected Lady Mayor of Valencia City together with the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on June 30, 2016 at the City Hall Covered Court, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The Inaugural and Oath-taking Ceremonies started with a Eucharistic Celebration led by San Agustin Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Diomedes Brigoli and the reception followed.

The inaugural rites were graced by the administering officer Judge Nellison U. Pajarillo-Salcedo of Valencia City Municipal Trial Court in Cities.

The officials of Valencia City are bound to start their functions on July 1, 2016:

Ms. Amalia A. Propia, MPA City Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Valencia gave her welcome remarks and emphasized that great functions comes with greater responsibilities.

More than 2000 guests- government officials, city department heads and heads of local and national agencies, employees attended the ceremonies together with the officials’ immediate families.

Equipped with the fresh mandate, Mayor Huervas emphasized on her inaugural speech that unity is the way to progress. Borrowing the words of American President John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,” Mayor Huervas highlighted the idea that everyone must do their share in making Valencia City a better place for every Valenciano.

Meanwhile, DILG X Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe, CESO IV gave his closing remarks and congratulated the officials.

A sumptuous lunch was then served for all the attendees.
