Mr. Bernaldo L. Obuta, Acting City Planning and Development Coordinator, chaired the said meeting and discussed the importance of the Comprehensive Development Plan.

All concerned offices were informed on the different data needed for the plan and assigned to gather data, based on the presented basic minimum indicators.

Ms. Amalia A. Propia, MPA, Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Valencia City, said that in planning, data is very vital for it will serve as the roadmap for the development and improvement of the city's programs. She also added that there is a need to strengthen the database of the city.

Also presented in the meeting is the guide for the comprehensive development plan preparation which will put into operation the concepts and processes enunciated in the rationalized local planning system and on harmonization of local planning, investment programming, budgeting and revenue administration.

Moreover, the said plan will provide the mechanism for the synchronization and harmonization of the core LGU operations from the planning to plan monitoring and evaluation with thematic and cross- sectoral concerns that various national government agencies pursue and seek to address at the LGU levels.

Section 106 of the Local Government Code of 1991 mandates each local government unit to prepare a comprehensive multi-sectoral development plan to be initiated by its local development council and approved by its Sanggunian.

All gathered data are expected to be passed and consolidated on July 10, 2016.
