Valencia City vies for National Nutrition Honor Award

The City Government of Valencia presented to the National Nutrition Evaluation Team the overview of the city's local nutrition program on June 7, 2016 at CAP Building.

Valencia City is vying for the National Nutrition Honor Award which is the highest award given by the National Nutrition Council to outstanding achievers in nutrition program implementation.

The city is qualified to vie for the National Nutrition Honor Award as it garnered the 2nd year Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) maintenance award.

During the welcome ceremony, the city was evaluated in the performance of its nutrition program management and delivery of its nutrition services. The evaluation team also randomly selected five barangays as part of the evaluation.

The city has been showcasing their best nutrition activities to further improve the nutrition situation of the city.

The evaluation team was headed by DOH Assistant Secretary Ma. Bernardita T. Flores, CESO II together with Mr. Ariel D. Odtojan of World Vision-Philcan, Ms. Jomarie Tongol of National Nutrition Council, Ms. Jovita A. Kotani of Department of Agriculture-PMS, and Ms. Divine Grace Domingo of UPLB-CHE. The team was assisted by Ms.Marrissa DM. Navales, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of National Nutrition Council X.

The evaluation will conclude on June 11, 2016
