DTI-BUK Conducts Franchising 101 Seminar at Negosyo Center Valencia

The Department of Trade and Industry (Bukidnon) conducted a seminar on Franchising 101 at the Negosyo Center Conference Room, New Integrated Bus Terminal Complex, Valencia City on May 18, 2016.

The Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry, Dir. Emerdio J. Abang, CESO V gave the welcome address while Ms. Venus S. Villanueva, Chief Head of the Business Development Division discussed about the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Roving Academy Framework.

Ms. Ratna Dewi Viado, Senior Franchise Officer of Mister Donut-Manila, who is among the speakers of the said training, discussed the procedures and requirements in applying for a Franchise in Mister Donut. Together with her is Ms. Aires C. Ardon of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Financing Program for Franchising Business.

The seminar was about facilitated by Mr. Junar B. Merla, Senior Trade and Industry specialist of DTI Bukidnon, and was attended by 51 participants composed of distinguished businessmen from the City of Valencia as well as government officials from other cities and municipalities.

During the question and answer portion, the speakers were able to thoroughly explain and discuss the procedures to the participants and addressed their concerns regarding the fees and possible expenses in franchising.

At the end of the seminar, Mister Donut and BPI-Savings conducted a one-on-one consultation.

Mr. Cristobal A. Abodiles, Board of Trustee of the Valencia City Chamber of Commerce gave his closing remarks.

The City Government of Valencia in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry launched the Negosyo Center in Valencia City on January 29, 2016.
