As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Valencia City Joins 114th Labor Day Celebration

Employees from the City Government of Valencia joined the other delegates from Malaybalay City and the other 20 municipalities of the Province of Bukidnon as the Department of Labor and Employment Bukidnon Provincial Office together with the Bukidnon Tripartite Industrial Peace Council spearhead this year’s 114th celebration with the theme, “Kinabukasan Sigurado sa Desenting Trabaho’’ in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on May 1, 2016.

The celebration started with a parade at 6:00AM from Pine Hills Hotel to Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater. Delegates from the LGUs, union sectors and private companies were welcomed by DOLE Bukidnon Provincial Head Raul L. Valmores.

Ms. Reyna Tagaylo, DOLE Staff read the message of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz and she quote, “The 2016 Labor Day celebration underscores the DOLE’s effort in developing the country’s top resource, our workers, and generating decent and productive jobs to secure a brighter future for the country.”

A ceremonial turn-over of livelihood project was facilitated by DOLE Bukidnon by Mr. Raul L. Valmores together with Mr. Archibald Batica, LEO III and Mr. Felino Atragenio, PDO II to Cabanglasan and Talakag Bukidnon.

Meanwhile, Mr. Teodoro Suarez, Union President and Labor Representative, in his message, thanked DOLE and the Provincial Government of Bukidnon for spearheading a very remarkable activity. He also emphasized the call of the union sectors to abolish contractualization and strengthen employment opportunities and aim for wage increase.

Tripartite Certificate of Compliance with Labor Standards was given to the 7 companies:

  1. Del Monte Phils. Inc.
  2. Dole North Skyland Zone
  3. Busco Sugar Milling Company
  4. DAVCO, Don Carlos, Bukidnon
  5. Bethel Baptist Hospital
  6. Dole Phils. South Skyland Zone
  7. Rebisco Phils.

The City Government of Valencia through the City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas was also recognized by DOLE for the strong support to DOLE’s Project Angel Tree. Valencia City partners with DOLE by extending support and assistance to identified child laborers. Valencia City also has a Job Search Kiosk for easy access of job seekers in the city.

Also showcased during the Labor Day Celebration is bloodletting from Red Cross, Diskwento Caravan from DTI, Livelihood Fair and Meat-processing enhancement program from DOLE.
