As my call to serve and lead the people of the City of Valencia, it is a challenge for me to make the city more progressive. First and foremost, to be able to attain it, I ensure that the employees of the City Government of Valencia serve the people in excellence as true public servants.
Among the many steps I took during my administration, I am encouraged to create a functional website to foster transparency. It is a tool to provide better services to all sectors in the community and it will also encourage public participation. The ultimate aim of this website is that eventually it will become a channel to facilitate business transactions efficiently using secured electronic payment systems.

Negosyo Center in Valencia City Launched





The City Government of Valencia in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry launched the Negosyo Center in Valencia City on January 29, 2016.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can now avail of complete assistance in starting and handling a business with the launching and opening of the Negosyo Center Valencia City on January 29, 2016 at the 2nd floor New Terminal Complex, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The establishment of the Negosyo Center is in support of Republic Act 10644 or “Go Negosyo Act”- An Act Promoting Job Generation and Inclusive Growth through the Development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises authored by Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV.

The Launching Program started with a Eucharistic mass and was attended by the officials of the City Government of Valencia headed by City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas, department heads, barangay captains, Valencia Chamber of Commerce, representatives from DTI Bukidnon, DTI Region X, Bukidnon MSMED Council, Bukidnon Kaamulan Chamber, invited guests from neighboring municipalities and local businessmen.

During the program, City CouncilorHon. Policarpo P. Murillo IV, MD, chairman of the Committee on Economic Enterprise and the City’s Local Investment and Economic Promotion Officer in his welcome remarks thanked and acknowledged the attendees.

“Negosyo Center Valencia City is the 130th Negosyo Center in the country and its aim is to promote and strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the city and reduce poverty incidents through job creation, production and trade in the city,” Dr. Murillo said.

During her message, Valencia City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas recognized the honored guests: Regional Director Erlinda O. Boniao of DTI Regional Office X, DTI Bukidnon Provincial DirectorErmedio J. Abang, Mr. Manny James A. Cudal II, Co-Chair of Bukidnon MSMED Council, Mr. Roderico R. BiocoPresident of Bukidnon Kaamulan Chamber, Dr. Efren Domiciano C. Villahermosa Jr.President of Valencia City Chamber of Commerce, City CouncilorsHon. Policarpo P. Murillo IV, MD, Hon. Atty. Oliver Owen L. Garcia, Hon. Camilo E. Pepito, Hon. Helen T. Bernal, department heads of the City Government, barangay officials and the attendees.

Mayor Huervas emphasized the importance of putting up a Negosyo Center as it will increase income of local entrepreneurs while promoting investments in the city. She also added that establishing a 5th LGU Negosyo Center in the region simply proves that public service in Valencia City is “public service with a heart.”

DTI Bukidnon Provincial DirectorErmedio J. Abang highlighted the importance of RA 10644. He also said that MSMEs can avail of various assistance and services catered by the Negosyo Center in Valencia City.

Meanwhile, Dir. Linda O. Boniao of Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office X in her message congratulated the City Government of Valencia for hosting the 10th Negosyo Center in the region and the 5th local government unit-based Negosyo Center in region 10. She also emphasized that partnership concept works and Valencia City together with DTI can help strengthen public-private partnerships, create more jobs and promote the ease of doing business while supporting initiatives of taxpayers.

City Councilor Atty. Oliver Owen L. Garcia, Chairman of the Committee on Accounts and Appropriation and Laws and Ordinances said in his closing remarks that through collaborative efforts, the 130th Negosyo Center was finally launched in Valencia City.

“DTI used to be only in Malaybalay City but now that Negosyo Center in Valencia City is already opened, businessmen can have ease in doing business within their jurisdiction,” Atty. Garcia Said.

He also thanked DTI for considering Valencia City as this could promote job generation and inclusive growth through the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the city.

Ms. Joan. L. Peñola the designated Negosyo Center Manager invites the SMEs and other investors to visit Negosyo Center Valencia City for consultations, business advisory and counseling services.

With a total floor area of 72 square meters, the Negosyo Center Valencia City is the 5th local government unit based Negosyo Center in region 10 which has a reception and working areas, product showcase area, consultancy area, and training room.
