City Government of Valencia Holds Necrological Service for Atty. Eliezer C. Mabao

The City Government of Valencia offered a Necrological Service for the late Atty. Eliezer C. Mabao on January 24, 2016, 7:00AM at the City Hall Executive Building.

Born on April 16, 1935, Atty. Eliezer Mabao spent most of his life in Valencia City. He was married to Cleofe Alkuino and their union was blessed with three children. He has served Valencias as an elected councilor in different terms; Municipal councilor (Jan 4, 1097-April 11, 1988) from the then Municipality of Valencia and as a City Councilor from July 2001 to June 2007. Atty. Ely Mabao has also served as the Municipal Vice Mayor by virtue of succession from April 25, 1988 to March 16, 1992.

Shortly after his demise, the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by City Vice Mayor Hon. Rolando P. Laviña together with the members of the Council and the Hon. City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas handed in to Ex-Councilor Cleofe A. Mabao, Atty. Mabao’s widow, a copy of Resolution No. 890-2016: A Resolution Expressing Deep Sympathy and Sincerest Condolences to the Bereaved Family of the Late Atty. Eliezer “Ely” C. Mabao, Former Sangguniang Bayan Member and Municipal Vice Mayor of the Then Municipality of Valencia and Sangguniang Panlungsod member of the City of Valencia on January 19, 2016 in their residence in Purok 2 Poblacion, Valencia City.

During the Necrological Service, Hon. City Vice Mayor Rolando P. Laviña gave his message of sympathy to the bereaved family. He added that Atty. Ely has a dynamic personality as a legislator and as a lawyer and he will always be remembered for his contributions to Valencia City.

Meanwhile, City Councilor Hon. Oliver Owen L. Garcia gave his Eulogy and expressed his sincerest condolences and gave an overview of the life and works of Atty. Ely Mabao.

A video presentation from SP Valencia City showcased the life of Atty. Mabao as a public servant and how his faithful service and dedication to Valencia will forever be reminisced.

The City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas then gave her message of comfort to the family and extended her sympathy to her colleague, and dear friend, ex-councilor Baby Mabao.

Ms. Cecile Mabao-Caballero, the daughter of Atty. Ely, gave the response from the family and extended the family’s appreciation and sincerest thanks to the City Government of Valencia for holding a service for Atty. Mabao.

After the benediction, a public viewing followed and at 9:00AM, Atty. Mabao’s remains were ushered by the officers of the Valencia City Police Station and were brought to Valencia Memorial Gardens where he was laid to rest.

A 21-gun salute was then rendered by PNP Valencia City in respect to the late public servant who once had served Valencia.

Atty. Ely Mabao passed away last January 18, 2016 at the age of 80 years old.
