Valencia City successfully holds symposium on Women's rights
The Valencia City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Ms. Vicky Lyn A. Duron, successfully held a symposium on women's rights at Jocel's Garden and Venue on December 4, 2015.
The activity is in lined with the national observance of the 18-day campaign to raise public awareness to end all forms of violence against women.
The symposium was attended by participants from the different government agencies and institutions.
Also invited are the different resource speakers who shared their knowledge on the importance of women and on how they can empower themselves.
Atty. Khristine Kaye L. Calingin, Hearing Officer of Central Board Assessment of Appeals Department of finance, discussed the different laws in the Philippines that support women's right and welfare.
Ms. Ma. Socorro Ester R. Paluga, General Manager of Valencia Water District, shared the story of an empowered woman and encouraged the participants to dream big and to never give up on achieving what they want.
Furthermore, Ms. Aida C. Selecios PhD, College Dean of San Augustine Institute of Technology, discussed the duties, responsibilities and commitment of a husband and wife to each other.
