Valencia City Hold Nutri School on Air Graduation Ceremony

The City Government of Valencia successfully held the Nutri School on Air Graduation Ceremony with 139 graduates coming from the different barangays in Valencia City on November 4, 2015.

The Nutri School on Air is a joint program of the city government through the City Nutrition Committee Office and Central Mindanao University Extension Office.

The program started in July until August 2015 where all parent-listeners have themselves registered to join the program.

The graduates completed the two-month program where lectures about proper nutrition and the "10 Kumainments" of the National Nutrition Council are conducted on air every Mondays, 6:00-6:30AM at DXMU FM 88.9 Development Radio anchored by Ms. Helen T. Panganiban, Field Operation Assistant IV.

Ms. Hazel P. Dondonayos, RND, City Nutrition Action Officer, said that one of the sustainable programs of the city is nutrition education as it helps inform the people on the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. "We are thankful as we were able to inform the people about the importance of having right nutrition," Dondonayos added.

Vice Mayor Hon. Rolando P. Laviña, in his welcome address, extended his gratitude to the people who help the program became successful. He said that informing the people about 10 Kumainments and proper nutrition is an effective way for the foundation of maintaining good health.

City Mayor Hon. Azucena P. Huervas on the other hand encouraged the people to eat healthy foods and to always prepare themselves to know what is good for their health.

The mayor even encouraged the graduates to share their learning to other people and contribute goodness through promoting healthy lifestyle and good nutrition.

The graduates were also thankful for the program as they learn a lot of information that will surely benefit them.

The event was also graced by Dr. Emmanuel T. Baltazar, Director of CMU Extension Office and Mr. Reymlani P. Sullers of DXMU FM 88.9 Development Radio.
