Mayor Huervas Meets the Press
Hon. Mayor Azucena P. Huervas meets the 17 broadcast and print media partners from Bukidnon last June 1, 2015, 1:00PM at the City Mayor's Office Conference Room during her monthly meeting with the press to address significant issues and concerns in Valencia City.
Among the topics discussed were the procurement of the Rescue Truck of the City Risk Reduction and Management Council worth P1, 980,000.00 and 10 units of motorcycle vehicles (6 XRM and 4 STX for the City Government of Valencia) and 1 motorcycle was downloaded to the city for the use of INREMP programs of the City Environment and Natural Resources. The mayor was also asked about the city government's educational assistance and she disclosed that the city is extending assistance up to P2,000.00/student. Another topic discussed is the situation of some mentally-ill persons roaming around the city streets of Valencia and the mayor’s plan of ordering the City Social Welfare and Development Office through the City Social Welfare and Development Officer, Mrs. Juanita A. Javier, RSW to account these mentally-disturbed individuals and prepare case study for proper assessment, evaluation and confinement. The mayor stressed out that since the City of Valencia does not have a facility for the mentally-ill individuals, the city government will provide assistance for their medicines and subsistence.
In relation to the City Government’s aim to promote No-Smoking Policy and strengthen its campaign against tobacco smoking, the City Government of Valencia conducted the World No Tobacco Day last March 28, 2015 and the highlight of the activity is the digital poster-making contest which aims to create awareness among constituents of Valencia. The month of June is also No Smoking Month and the Local Chief Executive challenged the employees and officials in the city to stop smoking.
The mayor also declared that the City Government has a new Acting City Administrator, Mr. Abe P. Gillaco and new Acting HRMO, Ms. Monaliza L. Sebastian.

General Revision of Real Property Assessments
April 27, 2015 - City of Valencia, Bukidnon
The City Government of Valencia through the City Assessor's Office conducted a Public Hearing on the Proposed Schedule of Fair Market Values for General Revision of Real Property Assessments of the City of Valencia at Jocel's Garden Venue. Director Gilbert B. Gumabay, Regional Director of Bureau of Local Government Finance -Region 10 graced the occasion. Hon. Azucena P. Huervas, City Mayor of Valencia City gave her message and Arnold R. Azucena, City Assessor gave the overview of the General Revision of Real Property Assessment.
Based on Sec. 219 of RA 7160, General Revision of Assessments and Property Clarification, the provincial, city or municipal assessor shall undertake a general revision of real property assessments within two years after the effectivity of this code and every three years thereafter. The primary purpose of a general revision of property is to equalize and update their valuation. But general revision also serves the purpose of "rediscovering' properties which have been 'lost' from tax rolls.
Local businessmen from Poblacion, Valencia City were invited and there was an open forum and the Synthesis was given by Felicisima L. Calonia, Assistant City Assessor. The City Assessor's Office will then conduct Public Hearing on the barangay level on the next few days.
