Training-Workshop on IEC Production and Use of Social Media for GAD Awareness Campaign


In order to strengthen the delivery of information in the barangay related to Gender and Development (GAD), the City Public Information and Assistance Division (PIAD) successfully conducted a training for the Barangay Information Volunteers, March 17, 2023.
The center of the activity is related to the creation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials that can be used to convey accurate information using social media.
"Through this activity, we can help the barangays to be active in providing information to the people, especially those they serve," said City Information Officer Aron Rempohito where he added that this activity is a prelude to the plan to organize Barangay Information. Officers (BIO) and strengthen the grassroots communication efforts of the local government.
The guest was Shaun Alejandrae Uy, Multimedia Associate of the Philippine Information Agency Region 10, who led the training of the participants. Also speaking was Charmaign Portal, GAD Focal Person, who talked about the duties of the GAD Office in this city and information about GAD. Also present was Marven Selecios, Executive Assistant IV, who expressed his great support for the event.

As many as 291 beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) from Barangay Sinayawan, Catumbalon, and Maapag received their payout after ten days of working in their respective barangays


This program, delivered by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Employment and Placement Services Division (EPSD) of this local government, aims to help people whose livelihoods have been affected by calamities.

Mayor Azucena Huervas personally thanked the DOLE Bukidnon office led by Provincial Director, Raul Valmores, for their constant assistance to the city through a similar program, as well as his request that it continue and the beneficiaries will be heard.
Director Valmores is also grateful to Mayor Huervas, as well as the EPSD office led by EPSD Manager, Elna Guzman, for the efforts that made the distribution of the said aid orderly.
