GAD Office successfully conducted the GAD Planning and Budgeting for FY 2024


Valencia City - The Gender and Development (GAD) Planning and Budgeting for FY 2024 successfully concluded at the Hotel de Susana in Patag, Bagontaas, Valencia City, last March 29, 2023, attended by various department heads and representatives from the city.
The three-day seminar-workshop aimed to ensure that all programs and projects of the city government are gender-responsive and that needs and concerns are fully considered in the planning process. The discussions revolved around how to mainstream gender in various programs, such as health, education, employment, and other basic services.
Mayor Azucena P. Huervas, who was present during the event, emphasized the city's commitment to achieving gender equality and promoting women's rights. She also acknowledged the significant role of women in society and encouraged everyone to support and empower them in every aspect.
Meanwhile, GAD Focal Person, Ms. Charmaigne F. Portal, highlighted the importance of integrating gender perspectives in the city's budgeting process to ensure that resources are distributed equitably and efficiently. She also stressed that the GAD planning and budgeting process is a continuous effort and that they will constantly monitor and evaluate its implementation to achieve its desired outcomes.
