Bids and Awards Committee
The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) is a mandated body within a Local Government Unit (LGU) responsible for ensuring that all government procurement activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, competitive, and cost-effective manner. Created in compliance with Republic Act No. 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act, the BAC plays a central role in the procurement process — from the preparation of bidding documents to the evaluation of bids and the recommendation of contract awards.
Composed of representatives from various LGU offices, the BAC serves as the primary group that oversees the acquisition of goods, infrastructure projects, and consulting services needed for the delivery of public services. Its work helps safeguard public funds, promote accountability, and uphold the principles of good governance in local procurement activities.
