LGU Valencia City turns over phase 1 facilities of Mt. Anahawon Tourism Center

The city government formally turned over the additional facility for the Tourism Information and Assistance Center located at Mt. Anahawon, Sitio Sumpong, Barangay Banlag on June 10, 2025.
Outgoing City Mayor Azucena Huervas led the turnover ceremony of the project, which was funded under the 2023 20% Local Development Fund (LDF) with a total cost of P10 million. The project includes the construction of a view deck, road concreting, and gravel pavement for a parking area.
The facility is seen to hold great potential in promoting tourism in the city, especially at Mt. Anahawon, now recognized as one of the emerging eco-tourism destinations in Valencia.
Mayor Huervas emphasized the important role of tourism as a pillar of local development and in creating more livelihood opportunities for residents of the barangay.
Officials of Barangay Banlag also expressed their gratitude to the local government for its continued support in improving their community through infrastructure that is expected to attract more visitors in the future.
