Irrigators’ group receives new agri facility from LGU Valencia City

Outgoing City Mayor Azucena Huervas led the formal turnover of the newly completed Multipurpose Building Warehouse with Solar Dryer to the Pulangi River Irrigation System Confederation of Irrigators’ Association (PRISCIA), Inc., in Barangay Tongantongan on June 10, 2025.

The facility, amounting to P2.5 million, was constructed through the 2019 20% Local Development Fund to support the city’s continuing agricultural programs and assist farmers in the proper and safe storage and drying of their harvests.

Under a usufruct arrangement, PRISCIA Inc. will manage and utilize the facility to benefit its member farmers and the broader agricultural community.

Mayor Huervas emphasized the importance of infrastructure as a key driver in improving the livelihoods of residents, especially in the agricultural sector, with a particular focus on the rice industry.

The city government also extended its gratitude to the Gamala family, the owners of the land on which the facility was built, for donating the site that enabled the successful implementation of the project.

Kenneth A. Malicay, Administrative Aide VI of the City Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Office, contributed to this report.
